Dear friends and family,
We serve a mighty and faithful Savior! God’s promises are true and His word will not return void. In Luke 19:40, Jesus replied, “I tell you, if people keep silent, the stones will cry out!”
God Can Use a Tree to Speak of His Power!
For many years, we have been looking for someone to cut down a big tree on the school property that was causing roof damage. Although Mr. Dan spoke with several people who said they would cut it down, they left once they saw the tree. In Gambia, as in many other African countries, people believe this kind of tree has demons inside and if they cut it, the demons would release curses upon themselves and others. The moment the community heard that Mr. Dan was trying to cut the tree down, people told him that someone would die if he touched that tree. Mr. Dan replied he was praying and no one would die. After many failed attempts, he found someone to do the job.
On a May morning, he and the tree cutting crew closed the school gates and after praying, they cut the tree down. The community was watching and waiting for what would happen to him or the school because of his defiance against the spirits that lived in the tree. But one week went by and nothing happened. Then two weeks, one month, two months, and finally three months went by and to their amazement, no one died. Mr. Dan told them: “I told you my God is more powerful; I’m praying to my God, and no one will be harmed!”
When the time came to register new students in September, 300 parents arrived to enroll their children at “The Prayer School”! We can only accommodate 30 new students every year, but these parents heard of the power of prayer and how our God protected the people in the community because of the Christian man praying. Mr. Dan said he can now pray in freedom for the students and doesn’t have opposition from Muslim parents like before.
God is keeping His Word and all things are working together for good. God is still blessing and winning souls!
Radiance Kids Club and Sunday School
Hope is continuing to invest in our children through discipleship classes, arts and crafts, and playing board games. Children enjoy these after-school activities so much, they don’t want to go home. They have competitions, receive prizes according to the levels they reach, and are motivated to reach for higher levels. The Bible memorization competitions are been won by Muslim children right now and for that, we give God all the glory! We pray that the Word of God they are memorizing will grow in their hearts and accomplish that which it was sent for – to bring them to Salvation!
We are excited to see a handful of newly hired teachers volunteering and helping Hope with the after-school program as they see the value and benefit in the lives of the children. Because of their commitment, Hope is training them to take some of the responsibilities of running the program so she can focus on other ministry projects. The board games we sent in the container have been a hit with the students and teachers, and it’s a joy to see them using the tools to learn in different and fun ways.
We thank God for Hope and what He is doing in the lives of our children. Only eternity will tell how many lives have been impacted and changed because of your partnership so we can do what we do.
Bringing Healing to the Suffering
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and generous giving to Shared Blessings ministry! Because of your support, we were able to provide the funds necessary for Hope’s mother to receive a much needed hernia surgery. She suffered in pain for a long time because she didn’t have the money to pay for it. We are so thankful she was able to have the surgery the end of November and she is recovering and gaining her strength. Please pray with us for her complete healing.
We wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a happy and blessed New Year! May His favor rest on you and His love protect you and keep you in His Mighty Power!
Blessings and much love,
Sol and Manuela Bah
