To God be the glory for all things He has done! We are excited to see His mighty hand at work in Gambia and beyond! We’re humbled He uses us in a small way to be part of what He is doing in the world today.

Reaching the Lost Beyond Gambia!

From the moment we met and started supporting Pastor Francaise seven years ago, we recognized God’s calling and anointing on his life as he shared his desire to go beyond the borders of Gambia to reach the lost. This has also been our vision and desire from the beginning, but we didn’t quite see how it would happen.

This year, Pastor Francaise led two ministry trips with Pastor John and a group of 14 people from different churches to Senegal and Guinea Bissau. To Senegal, they rode the motorcycle to the border and put it on a small boat to cross over the river and arrive in the village. They encountered opposition from the elders in the village, but the youth spoke up and asked them to stay and share the message of Hope. The youth is so hungry to hear the message of the Gospel and the Word was well received by many.

In Guinea Bissau, they traveled by taxi vans from country to country. Once there, they split the team in smaller groups and went to different villages to share the Gospel message. A young Muslim woman gave her life to the Lord and the local pastor is following up with her. The teams met people who lived in bondage under the oppression of the enemy, enslaved to heavy drinking, and had never heard of Jesus. Pastor Francaise’s heart was touched and broken, and they are already planning another trip in September to show the Jesus movie in the local dialect.

People’s hearts are open and hungry for the Word of God, for hope, redemption, and restoration. We have heard from others who visited Guinea Bissau that the poverty there is on another level, and it was confirmed by this team. God has already provided in so many ways for us to be able to support all these efforts and we have the tools necessary to show the Jesus movie.

The Container is Blessing People In and Beyond Gambia!

The container arrived in Gambia late to our standards, but in God’s perfect time! It arrived a few days after a major windstorm hit the country and left people in need of many of the things that were sent in that shipment.

Our team in Gambia is distributing wheelchairs, walkers, food, clothing, and shoes as well as repairing roofs for people that have been affected by the windstorm and the storms of life. This gives the people of God great influence and opportunities to share the love of Jesus in tangible ways and to share the Good News of the Gospel, the love of our Father through Jesus Christ.

Aside from Gambia, the goods in the container are being used in other ways, too! The local pastor in Bissau has assigned a few youths from his church to follow up in the villages the teams went to, but they have no transportation so walking takes a lot of time. Pastor Francaise shared this need with us and thought a bicycle would do them good. We have a few bicycles that were sent in the container and will be able to provide transportation for them! We will be able to extend other material goods to Pastor Francaise and his team when they go to Bissau and Senegal next time to bless the people.

A couple of months ago as we were patiently waiting for the container to make its way over the ocean waters, God spoke to us that He will use this container the way He used Joseph in Egypt. And we thought, that’s quite a big statement, Lord! Little did we know how He would bless so many people in so many ways through these material and necessary goods. Little did we know that He would use the container beyond the borders of Gambia and that the vision He gave us to reach all over West Africa would be coming to pass in this way!

We started gathering more items to fill and send another container and we are so grateful for all the donations we are receiving of school supplies, medical, toys and used clothing. As we partner with you and Gleanings for the Hungry ministry to send more food for the needy in Gambia, we see how working together can really change our world and be Jesus’s message of love to the lost.

We believe with all our hearts that God is going to do so much more as we continue to be obedient to His voice and direction. We are so excited to see the people we have been raising up and working with take on leadership roles and do the work that is required to fulfill the Great Commission Jesus gave us.
