October 2020 Newsletter: Seeds That Produce a Harvest

Oct 6, 2020 | Newsletters

Dear friends and family,

Most of us would agree that 2020 has proven to be above and beyond anything we had expected it to be. We all had beautiful dreams and high expectations of a 20/20-kind of vision for this year, it may very well be, but we don’t see clearly yet what God is doing in His mighty power and wisdom! We have been praying for a long time for revival in this nation and in Gambia. A few months ago, I clearly felt the Holy spirit whispering in my heart: “What if revival looked different than we expect it to be? Are we ready for a revival that looks different?” Are we ready for a move of God that looks different than before, shakes the nations, brings people to their knees, to worship the living Savior? I challenge you to open your spiritual eyes and see through the spirit what the Holy Spirit is doing.

No matter what happens, God is still on the throne and moving mightily in this world! Hallelujah!

Emmanuel Mission Center

Schools in Gambia may be opening around mid-October with an extended schedule of 6 days a week: 2 days in the classrooms and 4 days of distance learning. At least that is the plan for now, but things can change any minute. However, Emmanuel Mission School will resume a soft start on September 28th and will adjust the schedule once we have the final word from the education department. We appreciate your prayers as we navigate and make decisions in these new, difficult times.

Ministry partners update

Building a Bigger FacilityIn spite of all the difficulties caused by the pandemic that spread across the world, God is on the move and His church is growing! Pastor Robert and Anna Mendy are reporting from Youna Village church—the congregation is growing in the midst of lock down and church closure. They even started building a bigger facility to accommodate the growth. They believe a great harvest is to come. Praise God! We are so excited to recognize in the pictures some of the masons that our construction teams from Grace Church had trained and worked with many times! Sam and his team are now being hired and given a contract to build a church facility for God’s Glory! We serve a Mighty God; He is at work and His Word will not return void.

The seeds that produce a harvest

Seeds that produce a harvestPastor Seiko is so grateful for the rain that God sent on time this year! The seeds he planted just a few months ago are growing and producing the harvest he is counting on to feed his family. Looking at his lush groundnut fields reminds us of God’s faithfulness: The seeds of the Gospel that have been planted in the hearts of the children will eventually produce a harvest. In James 5:7-8, God is encouraging us to Patience and Endurance: “Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.”

God’s Word never changes and is true. We take heart and wait patiently for a generation of believers to rise up from the ministry of Shared Blessings that will change the future of Gambia! There are many other ministries in Gambia that are faithfully doing God’s work. We anticipate a great harvest to come!

Prayer and Praise!

In an unnamed village, the seeds that have been planted in the heart of a Muslim man (his father is an Imam) after much watering, have grown full bloom. About a month ago, he gave his life to Jesus! Hallelujah! He is being discipled and we appreciate your on-going prayers for him.

Please continue to pray for the Muslim woman that we mentioned in a previous newsletter, she is attending church regularly after being prayed for and Jesus delivered her from an evil spirit that had been tormenting her for a long time. Praise God!

Pray for God to prepare Godly people to work in the school. People like Daniel who was trustworthy, not corrupt and not negligent with what they are entrusted to handle; people who would choose to do the right thing, no matter the circumstances. Pray for the school’s teachers and staff to know right from wrong, so they can model that to the children.

Thank you so much for your commitment to pray, give, and support the work God is doing in Gambia. We know that each one of you is continuing to sacrificially give and support this work and we cannot thank you enough! We cannot do what we do without you! We declare the protection of the Blood of Jesus over you, your jobs, and your children!

Blessings and much love,

Sol and Manuela Bah
