Dear ministry partners,

Thank you for your partnership in giving, praying, and interceding for a nation that so desperately needs to know God’s love and the only plan of salvation and hope of heaven for people.

God answers prayers!

In August we asked you to pray for rain and God sent the rain! Gambia has a subtropical climate with two distinct seasons: a dry season from November to May and a rainy season from June to October. However, in the last 10 years, the rainy season has been starting later every year and this year, there was still no rain by the second part of August there! Pastor Seiko, our ministry partner in Buiam Village who farms and hunts, asked us to pray for rain. Two days after we asked you to pray, it started to rain! Praise God! While there is plenty of rain now, please continue to pray for the land to produce miraculously as this was a very late start for the farming season. But the God of miracles, the God that holds and sends the rain is able to make things grow and feed the people.

Radio ministry outreach

Pastor Seiko reaches out to his village and community through Bible studies, home groups, and a radio ministry. He speaks on the radio every Sunday and sometimes invites other preachers to participate. The radio program reaches three other villages as well as parts of Senegal. Pastor Seiko has told us many people call in with questions or ask him their questions when they see him in the villages. In partnership with another ministry, Pastor Seiko shows the Jesus movie in different locations periodically. Since most people in the villages don’t have electricity or access to television, having a free movie night is a treat and excitement for them. There have been crowds of over 400 people and there are Muslims who have given their lives to Jesus because He is presented differently than He is in the Quran.

  • Pray that the seeds of God’s love and truth will produce a harvest that will last for eternity.
  • Pray also for the radio program. While the transmitter has been fixed, there are now other issues. It’s been down for a few weeks and they don’t know when it will be fixed. Pray for a miracle.

Beauty from ashes

Many of you have heard that Sol’s mother went to be with Jesus at the end of August. Sol’s father and three brothers traveled to Gambia for the burial. Our school staff also attended the funeral service to pay their respects. During the funeral service, Sol’s dad took the opportunity to share what Shared Blessings is doing in Gambia. He talked about Sol being a man of integrity—that Sol is not corrupt, does not compromise, and when Sol gives you his word, you can count on it. It is so monumental for his dad to recognize and celebrate Sol’s character that shines like the sun in such a corrupt environment.

Sol’s brothers visited the school and they were beyond words! They had never seen any of the work God is doing in Gambia through their brother. We continually tell them it is only God who is able to do this through us because of our obedience. It is not our strength, wisdom, or skill that can accomplish any of this work because it is spiritual work being done for His glory.

We know and believe with all our hearts that God is at work. He has a big plan ahead of us that we don’t clearly see, but we trust Him and His direction for us.

We are asking for a nation to be saved and we believe His word that says, ask and I will give you the nations. We are waiting for Him to move, for Him to give us the go-ahead. I find it much harder to obey the “wait” than the “go”. We are in the waiting room: we are waiting for Sol’s healing, for God to orchestrate and direct our steps for the future for this ministry, and for a nation that is in our hearts day and night.

We appreciate your prayers in this season of waiting. We appreciate your words of encouragement and your support. We appreciate your faithfulness in giving to the work of God that is continuing and growing.

God promises us beauty from ashes, rivers of living water in the desert, peace in the midst of the storms, healing and restoration from His mighty hand and that’s what we stand on! We believe for salvation for the whole Bah family and for a nation!

Thank you for standing with us on His promises and in prayer to see His kingdom come and established in Gambia!

Blessings and much love,

Sol and Manuela Bah
