Dear friends and ministry partners,
Nothing teaches us the truth of the Gospel quite like experience. Being followers of Jesus, we are not immune to pain and difficulties, but we do have a guarantee that we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. The Bible warns us that in this world we will have troubles, but to take heart and stand strong because Jesus overcame the world. And so, in this season of our life we find our strength in God, who loved us so much He sent Jesus to die for our sins.
Seeing What Jesus Sees
We are excited and blessed to work with people on the ground who see what Jesus sees: the lowly and broken, the cast outs from society, the crushed in heart and spirit.
Janet constantly informs us of the needs and opportunities to serve and show people the love of God. Such is the story of a young woman she recently reconnected with after losing touch for some time. The woman is severely handicapped, has been abused, and now has a baby girl to care for. The conditions they live in are beyond comprehension.
Because of your faithful support, Shared Blessings provided funds to buy food, clothes, supplies for the baby, and other necessary things to make her life a little better. Janet continues to visit and encourage her, showing her love and bringing hope in a desperate situation. Please lift them up in your prayers!
Banyanka Village Ministry
Pastor Phillip is a dynamic young man with a calling to plant a church and share the Gospel with the people of Banyanka. A few years ago, we purchased a property in Banyanka with the intention of building a church as there were no churches in that area. We had to put the building plans on hold temporarily since we haven’t been able to travel to Gambia in a while, but we will soon start the building process.
In the meantime, Philip is holding services on the property and sharing the love of Jesus in the village. He is reaching the people of Banyanka with the good news that Jesus is the Savior sent by God to save them. Please pray for God’s protection on Phillip, for an outpouring of power on his life and the people he is called to serve, and for the Holy Spirit to draw people to Him so that everything that is broken—spirit, soul, and body—can be restored.
Youth Ministry Outreach
This summer, we are planning a National Youth Camp at the Outreach Center in Faalah, a collaborative effort with the ministry partners we support and young leaders from different churches in Gambia. Everyone involved are passionate about the lost and want to share the good news that Jesus saves.
They recently started meeting together to pray for and plan this God-given vision. Janet said, “All we are asking for now is prayer. We are out to take over the land. This is possible with everyone praying for us, while we start this movement.”
We are excited and encouraged to see the Gambians taking leadership roles in reaching their own people, to see them passionate about the Great Commission, and willing to do something about it. There is so much work to be done. There are also a lot of opportunities to be Jesus to the lost and to show them the love of God in action, just like Jesus demonstrated to us all.
How you can pray:
- Pray for wisdom for these young leaders; that they would be filled with the Holy Spirit and not try to do it in their own power and understanding.
- Be united in prayer with us for this event; we believe with all our hearts that God is moving in Gambia and we will see this nation come to know and serve Jesus.
- Pray they will be able to share a clear message of the Gospel; that Jesus is more than a prophet, He is the Word of God. He is God’s Spirit and He lives in us.
- Pray that people will have a hunger to know the truth.
- Pray for Jesus to appear to many Muslims in dream and visions in order to reveal to them who He is—God in flesh.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support, love, and prayers. We cannot do what we do without you! We will see this nation come to know the truth that Jesus is the only way to God.
Blessings and much love,
Sol and Manuela Bah
